Fast, stable network connectionIllustrative diagram; product in development.
The problem it solves
The core of a VPN app is its networking layer: receiving traffic from the device, routing it, encrypting it and forwarding it. Building on components whose licence terms do not fit may prevent commercial distribution. Elyzium VPN Engine is being built from scratch to deliver high performance with clear code provenance.
Who it is for
Teams building VPN or proxy apps for Android that need their own networking core they can control and distribute commercially.
Use cases
- Serve as the networking core of an Android VPN app.
- Replace a networking component whose licence does not allow commercial distribution.
- Build proxy apps that support several transports.
Key features
Written from scratch
The protocol layer is written anew rather than modifying an existing product, keeping code provenance transparent and easy to audit.
Built for speed
Designed so that network traffic does not detour through slow translation layers in the app, keeping latency low. This is a design goal that will be validated with real traffic.
Separate control and data paths
Control functions (start, stop, statistics) are kept separate from data processing, making the system easier to maintain and more stable.
Multiple transports
Two transports are implemented (XHTTP and QUIC); others are planned.
Measure before building
The foundation stage focuses on licensing, code provenance, on-device feasibility and performance before more protocols are written.
Designed for Android
Designed to embed in Android apps; on-device operation is being validated.
How it is deployed
Licence review
Check the provenance and licence of every component.
Platform validation
Test on-device operation on target Android devices.
Performance measurement
Compare throughput against running without a VPN.
Protocol implementation
Write further protocols once the steps above have results.
Technical details
| Stage | Foundation; does not yet forward real traffic |
|---|---|
| Language | Go |
| Target platform | Android |
| Implemented transports | XHTTP, QUIC |
Known limitations
We state these clearly so you know what to expect:
- Does not yet forward real traffic; it should not be considered usable in production.
- Many transports and protocols are still planned.
- This reflects the foundation stage and may change.
